This is a photo I took in the summer of 2016 after a hike in Freetown. The photo was taken from the top of a ledge, overlooking the lake below. Compositionally, I believe this photo is strong in multiple areas. The point of view is my favorite part of this photo. I believe the bird's eye angle intensifies the image and adds to the sense of danger and thrill already created by the words in the image. I believe the positioning of the graffiti is also important to the photo. It is the first thing the viewer notices and draws the eye out to the rest of the space in the image, creating drama. The vibrant colors of both the trees and water also make the image strong compositionally. I think the reflection off the water also adds a lot of beauty to the image. If I could recreate this photo, I would try to capture more of the texture in the boulder and in the surrounding brush immediately next to it. I would also try to position the rock and graffiti higher and more centered within the photo so that it really is the center of attention.
