For this photo series I decided to do something opposite than my usual series, which tend to focus on portrait shots and nature. I photographed roads, buildings, and street signs to capture a city aspect. I really enjoyed photographing this series, and I spent time in both Providence and Fall River to achieve it.
To unify my photos, I tried to appeal to the same, dark and almost blueish color schemes, with pops of color like red scattered I think the cropping of the photos is a strong technical aspect, as well as texture. My favorite photos are the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 6th. I love the lighting of the second photo and the reflection in the window of the 3rd. In the fourth photo, I like the centered aspect it has, as well as the texture of the brick wall and the rusty door. I love the pop of red color in the last photo, and the caution and mystery feeling that is given by the "Warning" sign.
If I could reshoot this series, I would probably reshoot the 1st and 5th photos, as I dont think they are as strong. Although I do enjoy the lines created by the power lines in the 5th photo.
